About Ellie
Ellie was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2017 and after two surgeries, the tumor was removed. In 2018 a second tumor was discovered, but that tumor was also removed. Despite having to relearn basic motor skills like walking and talking, Ellie's spirits never waned. Despite the doctor's expected outcomes, she always bounced back better than ever!
After her first surgery, Ellie had a tracheostomy due to a difficulty swallowing safely. While she couldn't enjoy foods along with her friends, she developed a love for baking. She would regularly share her treats with family and friends. She even baked dog treats to share with her furry animal friends when the family was out and about.
Ellie passed peacefully on November 1, 2022, from complications surrounding an infection. She was surrounded by friends and family who loved her.
Ellie's mom Katie said, "I was always so concerned she would feel different, but she never did because everyone in her life treated her with such respect and care ... she never felt like an outcast among kids or adults. Her life was full of beautiful people and experiences.”
Because of her transformational joy, we honor her memory with a place we know would have brought a smile to her face. We hope you and your family feel the joy of Ellie's life each time you visit.
